Lake Michigan Charter Fishing Rates & Trip Info

At On The Fly Charters, we specialize in salmon and trout fishing charters on Lake Michigan, launching from Grand Haven, Michigan. I’ve included everything you need to know about our trip options, pricing, and what to expect on the water.

Fishing Charter Rates

  • Half-Day (5-Hour Trip): $725 for up to 4 passengers

  • Additional Guests: $50 each for 5th and 6th passengers

  • Trip Duration: ~5 hours

  • Includes: All gear, tackle, fuel, and fish cleaning

  • Gratuity: 18–25% is customary

All trips are private — just your group and the captain.

🕓 Morning & Afternoon Charter Times

  • Morning Trips: 6:00 AM – 11:30 AM

  • Afternoon Trips: 3:00 PM – 8:30 PM

Looking for a longer trip? ¾-day and full-day charters available by request!

  • Deposit: 10% required to hold your date

  • Balance Due: Cash or credit card after the trip

🌧️ Cancellation & Weather Policy

  • Contact the captain directly for cancellations

  • If weather prevents departure, you may reschedule or receive a full refund

  • Trips canceled with less than 48 hours' notice may forfeit deposit

  • Cooler with drinks and snacks

  • Empty cooler for cleaned fish

  • Sunscreen, sunglasses, layered clothing

  • Rain gear, hat, comfortable shoes

  • Motion sickness meds (if needed)

  • Camera or phone for photos

🎟️ Michigan Fishing License

All anglers 17+ must have a valid license. Get yours at: mdnr-elicense.com
Kids under 16 do not need a license.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Group Size

We are Coast Guard certified for up to 6 passengers (plus captain and mate). Families and first-timers welcome!
