Rates & Frequently Asked Questions

RATES & RESERVATIONS

 

·      For a Standard 5-hour trip, our rate is $725.00 for groups of 1-4 with a $75.00 per person charge for passengers 5 or 6. 

·      A (10%) Deposit is required to hold scheduled dates.  

·      Morning Charters are typically scheduled 6:00 am to 11:00 am and afternoon trips are 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm; however, some adjustments are made based on sunrise and sunset and the month of your trip.

·      Payment by Cash or Charge (Visa or MasterCard) will be due upon completion of the trip.

·      Payment by check  (prior to the trip) can be mailed to On The Fly Charters, LLC, 6258 Henry St, Norton Shores MI 49441. Please include your dates in the memo section of the check.

·      The mate works hard to ensure you have a safe and successful fishing experience. Customary gratuity is 18-25% of the charter rate. All gratuity is greatly appreciated.

·      Fish cleaning and processing services will be provided at no additional charge to you.  Please have an empty cooler available if you would like to bring fish home.

 

 

CANCELLATION POLICY / INCLEMENT WEATHER CONDITIONS

·         All Cancellations or changes to your reservation must be done through the captain. Please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions.

·         If we have inclement weather that prevents us from leaving the inlet, you have the option to roll your deposit over and reschedule or receive a refund.

·         Weather conditions and trip cancellation is determined solely by the captain.

·         Deposits are subject to forfeiture if the trip is canceled with less than 48 hour notice

 

ARRIVAL / RETURN

·         Please be at the boat ready to leave the dock by 5:45 am  or 2:45 pm unless the captain says otherwise.

·         We ask all charters to touch base with us 48 hours in advance to confirm arrival time. (231) 206-7396(text or call is fine)

·         Return to the dock is generally between 11:15 am – 11:30 am or 8:15 pm - 8:30pm   (Time to clean and package fish at the dock will usually be about 30 min)

 

WHAT TO BRING

·         What you want to eat and drink. Typically, our customers bring their own small cooler that includes snacks, beverages, lunch, and ice.

·         Cooler to take home your catch (these can be left in your vehicle).

·         Sunscreen, sunglasses (preferably polarized), proper fishing shoes and layered clothing, foul weather gear, hat/visor, motion sickness medicine (if you are unsure of seasickness), and camera.

·         Keep in mind this is a 5-hour trip and the weather can change drastically so bring anything that will make you comfortable.

·         All top-of-the-line fishing equipment will be provided.

 

 

FISHING LICENSE

·          The Michigan DNR requires that each passenger has a valid Michigan Fishing License.

·         Day Pass fishing licenses are available locally at any sporting goods store or Meijer/Walmart Sporting goods dept.

 

 

PASSENGER CAPACITY

U.S Coast Guard regulations allow us to carry six passengers, not including the captain and mate.
